

Middlezoy Aerodrome operate from the southside of the old Westonzoyland Airfield.
Located off the A372 east of Bridgwater, Somerset, England TA7 0JS.

VJ Day commemorative formation flight 15th August 2025
The Middlezoy Aerodrome flying group will make a formation flight with 5 aircraft around North Somerset to commemorate the 80th anniversary of VJ day and the ending of World War 2.
The lead aircraft will be a replica WW1 SE5a biplane fighter flown by ex Harrier jump jet display pilot Sqn ldr Dave Linney AFC RAF Retd. The next is an Isaacs Fury (replica of a 1930s biplane Hawker Fury fighter) flown by retired airline pilot Gary Priestley. The 3rd and 4th aircraft will fly in echelon right and left to the Fury, both aircraft are Austers, and veterans of WW2 built in the early1940s. Both aircraft were used by the army during WW2 for controlling their artillery fire. The one on the left will be flown by ex bomber and airline pilot Flt Lt Mike Laundy cfs. RAF Retd. The one on the right will be flown by Lt Martin Baldock RN Retd. An ex navy helicopter pilot, and currently an airline training captain. Bringing up the rear is an Aeronca Champ built in 1947, and of the type used by the US army in the Korean war. It’s pilot is Dave Jones, currently a commercial pilot, flying instructor and examiner.
